Why Fairmined?
I joined the challenge to further my support of artisanal and small-scale mining organizations that are part of the Fairmined Initiative. I hope that my jewelry pieces will draw attention to the fairmined community and that more and more jewelers will start using fairmined. Fairmined is Gold to be Proud of.

I selected honey locust thorns from Catland Books, a shop in Brooklyn. Honey locust symbolizes beauty, protection and tolerance.
The honey locust thorns were molded and cast in 14K fairmined gold, later accentuated with responsibly sourced pink opal gemstones. The honey locust necklace comes with a 20 inch long 14k fairmined gold chain.
