“”As a jeweler and metalsmith my goal is to create and enhance the bond between humans and other life forms on Earth. Jewelry is a wonderful medium to create a lasting connection to the natural world since the relationship that humans have with jewelry is an historically intimate one. After spending a large portion of my life learning many different goldsmithing and metalsmithing skills. I began to also explore the ecological and social implications of my craft. I love to work with gold as a material, however standard extraction techniques can be costly to the environment, and wellbeing of the communities adjacent to the mines. I became licensed to use Fairmined gold to maintain a consistent message of environmental and social stewardship within the fine craft jewelry community. It is my hope to bring more awareness to customers and other jewelers that an investment in fairmined gold is also an investment in a brighter future for the miners, their families, and the environment.”
