About Monjoie

Monjoie is the name given to small buildings built by the Romans outside Narbonne. During the Antiquity, Narbonne was Narbo Martius. It didn’t have any water and to supply the city, the Romans built a pipe inside the land, an aqueduct from the sources of Fontfroide, about fifteen kilometers from Narbonne to Narbo Martius. On the surface, the Romans built little constructions that allow them to access to the pipe and maintain it. These are the Monjoies. Small constructions still present, aligned with each other, in the heart of the territory of Fontfroide, in the heart of groves and vines. They have an identity form.
The Monjoie collection gives an homage to the Roman history of Narbonne. It gives to discover or rediscover these Roman works.

This is jewelry made with thick sections of gold. The jewels have a special surface work that gives the gold a slightly brown tint, and a patinated and brushed surface appearance. The rings are mounted with a monjoie made of sculpted solid gold. It’s the idea of a ring set with the traditional vocabulary of jewelry but revisited with a faceted gold pebble.
