Why Fairmined?
“We knew we needed to participate in the Fairmined 100 challenge the moment it was announced. We are participating because as a business we believe in supporting fully traceable gold. The Fairmined 100 Challenge is a wonderful way to showcase the stunning work of so many talented designers and makers while simultaneously highlighting the amazing work and stories of all the individuals who mine the materials that we as makers use every day. It feels like a duty to us as jewelers to share these stories so they are not lost in systems of commercialism and commerce. To us at W.R. Metalarts, isn’t enough to just put an “ethical” label on something. We only source materials we can stand behind, and Fairmined gold is one of those. Our journey as a business that strives to be sustainable and ethical is to continue learning, educating, and sharing the stories of our materials and the people who sourced them.”
