The earrings: Organic, effortless and moving. The subtle gradients in the L’art est un fruit earrings are inspired by the sculptures of Jean Arp, who sought to redefine the relationship between humans, nature and objects. Representing abstract thoughts in tangible and sensual forms, his art did not attempt to imitate nature’s forms but, akin to organic material, germinate and grow in the human mind.
The blue pendant: Working in monochromatic ultramarine, Klein sought to appropriate images of reality, namely the sky and sea, to evoke the infinite and immaterial. Set with lapis lazuli, flat on one side and three dimensional on the other, the Nouveau Réalisme pendant draws upon ancient associations of Lapis’ depth with that of a midnight sky.
The ring: From prehistoric art to modern mathematics, curves have long occupied the human imagination. Isolating a breast or a thigh and distorting scale that they adopt new identities, Brandt’s surreal nudes interact with the contours of the female form, provoking a reconsideration of our perceived reality. A smooth textured, open band, the Topological Space ring contours the finger on a subtle gradient; feminine and elegant worn alone or in a group.
